Daily Responsibilities and Key Duties
Each day in this position involves maintaining hygienic workspaces and public areas. Cleaners use sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to ensure a tidy environment, following essential health and safety rules.
Duties go beyond floor care. Staff are responsible for cleaning countertops, lighting fixtures, and glass surfaces as well as ensuring that furniture and high-touch points like door handles are regularly sanitised.
Restroom sanitation is crucial, including deep cleaning toilets, sinks, and restocking essential supplies. Proper waste management means trash bins and recycle containers are emptied and disposed of efficiently.
Kitchen and pantry spaces are managed with care—appliances, counters, and cup cupboards are kept hygienic. Washing up dishes may be expected from time to time.
Monitoring stock levels is also required. It is important to alert management about low inventory and refill soaps, towels, and tissue as needed to keep work areas functional.
